Mamelodi Sundowns has parted ways with defender Wayne Arendse and attacking midfielder Anthony Laffor.

“Snoti” ‚as Laffor, 35, was fondly known by those who admired his skills and destructive ability, he joined Sundowns in 2012 from SuperSport United and went on to make more than 170 appearances and scored 30 goals.

Laffor is one of the most decorated players in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) with seven league titles, five with Sundowns and two with SuperSport, and also won the Caf Champions League and Caf Super Cup at Downs.

Arendse, 36, also joined the Sundowns in 2012, coming from relegated Santos. He then made 170 appearances and won five league titles, the Champions League and the Super Cup.

Sundowns announced that they also parted ways with forward Katlego Otladisa, who joined the club from the now-defunct Platinum Stars in 2018 but struggled to secure a spot in the star-studded Brazilian lineup.

During his time at Chloorkop, Otladisa was loaned out to Cape Umoya (now Cape United) and Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) for much-needed playing time.

“Mamelodi Sundowns would like to wish him all the best in his future and we are proud of the contribution he has made to the club. Laffor and Arendse are two of the most decorated players to ever grace the soccer field and they wear green and yellow, ”the Sundowns statement said.

“There are countless moments that we have shared with them over the years. A special thanks to the two Sundowns legends who have dedicated their time and effort to the club and have been part of the success of Masandawana throughout the years. “

As free agents, the three players will be looking for contracts with new clubs.
