Security group Fidelity has announced a partnership with Vumacam to deploy an extensive network of surveillance cameras in Gauteng.
“The Vumacam cameras are fiber-connected to Vumacam’s advanced Teraco tier-4 data center and the power is transmitted in real time to Fidelity’s command and control center, where it is safely stored for 30 days,” said Wahl Bartmann. , CEO of Fidelity Services. Group.
Bartmann said the technology enables data privacy while allowing integrated analysis of criminal incidents flagged on all Vumacam cameras nationwide.
The partnership between the two companies began with the deployment of the smart camera network in various southern suburbs earlier this year.
The initial project saw the Bassonia, Glenvista, Mulbarton and Glenanda areas benefit from 27 strategically positioned poles with 27 license plate recognition (LPR) cameras and 54 overview cameras.
“By the end of December, we will have deployed 1,400 LPRs in Gauteng,” said Bartmann.
He said this is part of a contracted solution for residential communities and commercial clients, including businesses, smallholdings, farms and shopping centers. The increased coverage will support Fidelity’s broader crime prevention efforts, he said.
“The rise in crime has led many residents to take a more proactive stance regarding local security requirements.
“They believe that it is necessary to find solutions that coordinate the application of the law and the solutions of private security companies to effectively tackle criminal activity in their areas of residence. The same applies to many of our commercial clients, ”he said.
