A man was assaulted, allegedly by a group of taxi drivers, while traveling on the N2 in Cape Town on Wednesday morning.
“Athlone police are investigating a common case of assault after a man was attacked by taxi drivers on the N2 between Bhunga and Jan Smuts Drive around 07:30 [on Wednesday] tomorrow, “said police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk.
A video of the attack has gone viral. The video shows three men attacking the man on the N2 road and it appears that someone sitting in a taxi is recording the incident.
The three attackers can be seen hitting and kicking the man, whose shirt appears to be torn. One of the attackers uses a bag to hit the man and another kicks him to the ground, before two passersby intervene.
No arrests have been made.
