South Africa recorded 65 more Covid-19-related deaths on Tuesday, bringing the recorded death toll to 21,709.
Of the 109 deaths, four were recorded in the Eastern Cape, 15 in the Free State, four in Gauteng, 12 in KwaZulu-Natal and 30 in the Western Cape.
“We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased and we thank the healthcare workers who treated the deceased patients,” Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said in a statement Wednesday night.
The cumulative total of Covid-19 cases registered in South Africa is 796,472, with 4,173 new cases identified since the last report. The recoveries are at 734305.
