Bruno Fernandes closed the recent claims after Manchester United pulled off an incredible comeback in their 3-2 win over Southampton.
Bruno Fernandes has been absolutely amazing since he joined Manchester United in January. The Portuguese international is one of the main reasons the club managed to finish third in the Premier League last season and secure qualification for the Champions League.
In 36 appearances with the Red Devils, he has scored 22 goals and provided 13 assists. Incredible numbers for an offensive midfielder. And it’s not just his individual ability that he has brought to this team, he has also improved those around him. However, the same cannot be said for Donny van de Beek’s summer signing.
The Dutchman has barely appeared since arriving at Old Trafford. But after yesterday’s win over Southampton, Fernandes seems adamant that Van de Beek can fit into the same eleven as him.
As reported by the Express, the Portuguese playmaker said:
“All the midfielders in our team have quality.
“Donny has a lot of quality. We know that we can play together and we also have the team with other players. We all have quality to play and we know each other.
“We can play with three today and then switch and play the next game with another three or another four.
“It doesn’t matter because everyone has quality and we can all be together on the field, everyone can make a difference.
“Donny played a really good game today, but Fred and Nema [Nemanja Matic] they were really important to us. “

It was Van de Beek’s first league start since joining the Red Devils. He had also had an impressive performance against Istanbul Basaksehir in the midweek in the Champions League. And the Dutchman hopes this is the start of a long first-team career for him.
Many have argued that it was unnecessary for the Red Devils to sign the midfielder considering how strong that area already was. But if their inclusion in the first team helps them improve, it won’t be long before the critics change their minds. To be honest, there has never been a question about his ability, only one about his suitability for this side.
Right now, several players are missing and it will be interesting to see if Solskjaer still opts to start it when everyone is fit. Also, what does this mean for Paul Pogba’s future? The Frenchman has already spent significant time on the bench this season and could now find himself even lower in the pecking order. Things will be much clearer in the coming weeks.
