Mshoza’s husband receives a ‘hot slap from his sister’

Johannesburg – A war has broken out between Mshoza’s sisters and her ex-husband, Prince Mzwandile Dlamini, over royalties from the Kwaito star.

So dramatic was the dispute between the three that one of Mshoza’s sisters allegedly slapped Dlamini hard and damaged his phone after a confrontation at a morgue on Friday.

The sister was arrested for assault and property damage, but was later released.

The behind-the-scenes drama, according to people close to Mshoza’s family and sisters, began when Mshoza’s older sister Thandi and her younger sister Seipati went to the funeral home to wash her body and obtain her death certificate, but the parlor would only deliver the certificate to Dlamini.

This, the family member explained, was because it was discovered that although Mshoza, whose real name was Nomasonto Maswanganyi, was no longer with Dlamini, the couple had not officially divorced.

Another family member said the sisters also approached the Southern Africa Music Rights Organization (Samro) in hopes of getting 25,000 rand for funeral arrangements, but said the authorities also turned them down, saying they were only they could talk to Dlamini.

The funeral home called Dlamini to inform him that there were people asking for Mshoza’s death certificate. Then he ran there. Upon his arrival there was a war of words between him and Mshoza’s relatives, ”said the source close to the family.

Sunday World saw a video showing one of Mshoza’s sisters involved in a verbal altercation with a man who could not be identified in the video.

She is also shown lifting a broken phone from the floor of the funeral home.

Dlamini’s refusal to reimburse the family for all the expenses they had incurred in preparing for the funeral had apparently caused the altercation.

One of Mshoza’s relatives told Sunday World that her sister’s husband had apparently paid more than 100,000 rand for the burial preparations and asked Dlamini to refund the money, as he had the signing rights to everything.

But this apparently didn’t sit well with him.

The source added that there was an exchange of harsh words and Thandi eventually lost his cool.

According to the source, Thandi launched the first blow and managed to break Dlamini’s phone.

“They were quickly separated,” the source said.

Thandi referred all inquiries to the family spokesperson, Thanduxolo Jindela, who declined to comment.
