Durban – A gang of men has been arrested and is due to appear in court shortly after the CCTV camera caught their latest robbery.
Their arrests come after the gang spent weeks terrorizing students and residents in and around the Point compound. They were arrested over the weekend, thanks to collaboration between Boss-UIP security specialists and local police and law enforcement officials.
Boss-UIP Security Specialists spokesman Raz Ali said that for weeks the gang, made up of about five men, detained students and others along Point with knives.
“The modus operandi of the suspects was to threaten their victims with stabbing, often pushing them to the ground before violently seizing their mobile phones, wallets, jewelry and other valuables.”
“The gang activity was reported to Boss-UIP security specialists by the Urban Improvement Precincts Company office who were concerned about the theft escalation and have set up an advanced CCTV network that has collected positive data in these volatile areas. , ” he said.
Ali said Sunday night that a multidisciplinary law enforcement team raided hotspots where multiple people were identified by the UIPCO control room.

Boss-UIP along with the other law enforcement officers are on the trail of the other gang members, “Ali said.
He added that the operation was a success and that its members persecute the other gang members.
