3,069 new COVID-19 infections detected in South Africa, with 88 more deaths recorded
More than 3,000 new infections have been detected in the last 24-hour cycle, bringing the count since the start of the outbreak in March to 778,571.

CAPE TOWN – South Africa’s death toll from coronavirus has risen to 21,289 after the Health Ministry confirmed 88 more deaths.
More than 3,000 new infections have been detected in the last 24-hour cycle, bringing the count since the start of the outbreak in March to 778,571.
The ministry has not given an update on the recovery rate as it continues to reconcile Gauteng’s coronavirus numbers following questions about accuracy.
The number had been above 92% three days ago.
Work is also underway to control infections in the Western Cape.
