JOHANNESBURG – Pressure group AfriFourm said it was confident that the alleged mastermind involved in the murder of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa would appear in the dock when the case resumes in court next year.

The organization has been tied up by the Meyiwa family to help speed up investigations.

The family said police had yet to arrest the key suspect behind the protracted murder case.

Five men implicated in Meyiwa’s murder made a brief appearance at the Boksburg Magistrates Court on Friday, where the case was postponed until March next year.

They maintain that they are being used as scapegoats while the real culprits are roaming free.

Kallie Kriel of AfriFourm said that based on recent evidence, they have an even stronger case against the alleged mastermind.

“We now believe that there is an even stronger case against the mastermind and we hope this postponement is to ensure that the next time the mastermind is in court. We believe that there is ample evidence against the mastermind and that new evidence has also come to light. Therefore, we trust that when on March 5 there is a defendant and that defendant will be the mastermind. “

‘IT IS DELAYING JUSTICE’

Meanwhile, Meyiwa’s family said they felt that justice was being delayed in her murder case as the mastermind of her murder has not been arrested.

Meyiwa’s brother, Sifiso, said the family was disappointed with Friday’s postponement.

“He is delaying justice. I believe in God so I can’t say that God is holding us back and I think there is a reason for this delay. “

But he believes that justice will finally be served for his brother’s murder.

“As more information is given to the police and AfriForum, AfriForum will make sure that all the decisions they make are correct. Justice will be served. “

Meyiwa said that despite the slow start, they are grateful for AfriForum’s help in bringing this matter to court.
