José Mourinho told Daniel Levy that the trio was not good enough for Spurs, claims the former boss
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes José Mourinho was able to secure Daniel Levy’s backing by convincing the president that three of his fringe players weren’t good enough for the club.

“José Mourinho has gotten in there, Troy Parrott is not good enough, Walker-Peters is not good enough, Oliver Skipp,” Sherwood told The Kelly and Wrighty Show (via HITC).
“Not only is it not good enough. Get rid of them. It takes them away from the football club.

“When José Mourinho came in for the first time, they asked him ‘do you need players?’ He said ‘no, I’m happy with the squad.’ What a wonderful team, from the outside. He goes in there, after the inks are dry, and he goes to see Daniel Levy ‘they’re not good enough. We need this one, that one and go get me. ‘ And Daniel has endorsed it. “
Of the three named players, only Walker-Peters has left permanently, with the other two on loan at the Championship.
Skipp has impressed for Norwich City, while Parrott made his long-awaited first league start for Millwall on Wednesday after injury problems.

Tottenham managed a comfortable win over Ludogorets in the Europa League, with two first-half goals from Carlos Vinicius putting them on track before Harry Winks and Lucas Moura added sparkle to the score after the break.
Winks ‘goal was the highlight, with the midfielder defeating visiting goalkeeper Plamen Iliev from inside Ludogorets’ field.
The England international would later admit that the goal was unintentional, but that didn’t stop the fans from reacting in amazement as the ball found its way to the back of Iliev’s net.

Spurs have earned the right to dream of a league title, says Dimitar Berbatov
Former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov knows what it takes to win a Premier League title, having tasted glory with Manchester United in 2009 and 2011.
And the Bulgarian believes in Spurs have earned the right to be considered title contenders following their win over Manchester City last weekend.
“The Spurs showed they are serious title contenders with their win over Manchester City,” he told Betfair.
“It was a great victory and it was probably exactly how Mourinho wanted the game to be.
“It is still early, but I think the title is now in the minds of the players and the Spurs coach, even if they don’t admit it.”
