Former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund shared Booth’s sentiments, saying that all South Africans should support Mosimane.
“I am very proud of Pitso. I think I was one of the first people to wish him well when he won the league last season, which was his fifth title, ”said Igesund.
“I think he has done superbly well for himself and Sundowns and I am very proud of him. I wish him all the best in the final on Friday.
“I think it has opened the door to other South African coaches because I think we have quality in this country.
“I am not a jealous person and I am one of those who always wants to see people do well. I’ve had success in the past winning four championships and I know there are always people who always want to take you down.
“But I have learned that we have to hug each other and that Pitso needs to be hugged because he has done a magnificent job and will definitely open the doors for our children.”
Zamalek hope to win their sixth Champions League title and the first since 2002, while Mosimane is looking for his second trophy and Al Ahly is on the brink of his ninth title, and the first since defeating the Orlando Pirates in the final of 2013.
