- Mshoza, whose real name is Nomasonto Maswanganyi, died Thursday.
Family and friends attended a memorial service for Kwaito artist Mshoza on Wednesday.
Those closest to Mshoza celebrated his life during a service held at Bassline in Newton in Johannesburg.
The place was decorated with white roses and candles as mourners gathered to pay their respects. As the venue followed strict Covid-19 precautions, the ceremony was also streamed online.

Mshoza, whose real name is Nomasonto Maswanganyi, died Thursday.
Talking to Channel24, The manager of Mshoza Thanduxolo Jindela confirmed that the artist died of complications from diabetes, adding that he tested negative for Covid-19.

Sharing a message with Mshoza fans, Thanduxolo said Channel24: “I would like to thank the fans and the public for their continued support during these difficult times. Mshoza must be smiling right now.”
He added, “She was very dear to her people and they have shown her a lot of love and support until the last day. May her music be the reminder that Mshoza is the queen of Kwaito Township.”
