A 12% year-on-year revenue loss added to the station’s woes as advertising revenue fell, Mxakwe said. Television license revenue also decreased 18% year-on-year to R791 million.

On Friday, SABC said its board had suspended the corporation’s downsizing process for seven days to explore other options to ensure the issuer’s financial sustainability.
