JOHANNESBURG – Fugitive Pastor Bushiri believes the arrest warrants issued against him and his wife, Mary, are part of a plot to persecute him.
The Hawks have confirmed that three more orders have been issued for the self-proclaimed prophet, bringing the total number to five.
Bushiri issued a statement on Facebook, saying the latest development only confirmed the level of injustice in South Africa.

The couple fled to their home country, Malawi, almost two weeks ago, violating the conditions of their bail here in South Africa.
The South African government has launched an extradition process to force the couple to answer charges of fraud, theft and money laundering here in their homeland.

Bushiri has also been accused of rape by members of his Illustrated Christian Meeting Church in 2018.
Katlego Mogale of the Hawks said three arrest warrants were obtained for rape cases last week.
“Three more arrest warrants have been issued for fugitive Shepherd Bushiri, who broke bail and fled to Malawi several days ago, along with his wife Mary Bushiri, and they were issued on Friday, November 20, 2020. Bushiri was already facing charges. of fraud and money laundering at the time of his disappearance. Bushiri was still under investigation for three separate cases of rape reported by members of his church. “
