“Just as he has done before, verbally attacking the character of our men and women in blue in September for fulfilling their duties, to the point where he even labeled their boots stinky, this time he has taken his insults to another level, where is encouraging direct violence against SAPS members and their families.

“This, by implication, is a call for anarchy, and we are concerned that this displayed attitude is turning into a slippery slope.”

The union said the police were there to protect the rights of all South Africans, regardless of political affiliation. He added that the discussions took place ahead of planned protests over the deployment of law enforcement agencies and security measures.

“As South Africans, we should never allow ourselves to be dragged into an era where resolving our differences means taking up arms against each other while having platforms for dialogue.”

“We are not afraid of the police,” Malema said at the weekend rally. “They believe this uniform gives them superior power. We’ll see you after you take off your uniform, at home at night when you’re about to eat daddy ”.
