CAPE TOWN – Several people were injured in a shooting at the taxi rank on the deck of the Cape Town station.

Paramedics responded to the incident around noon today.

The incident involved seven taxi drivers. No deaths have been reported.

“The incident involved six male patients and one female patient,” said Deanna Bessick of Metro EMS.

“They were found on Old Marine Drive, the long-distance bus terminal and at the taxi rank on the station deck. The patients suffered shoulder, neck and head injuries.”

Four patients were transported to nearby hospitals, while the rest were transported by ER24.

The deck of the Cape Town station was still occupied even after shots were fired in the area.

Taxis were loading passengers further from the crime scene.

Drivers at the scene were reluctant to comment, but said Eyewitness news They were scared.

Police and law enforcement were combing the area.

Armed subway police officers could be seen searching taxis parked further down from where the shooting occurred.

Travelers and taxi drivers watched as police cordoned off the section where the shooting took place.
