However, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, couldn’t make the list at all. The findings were published by online fashion platform Lyst in part of its Year In Fashion Report.
It was based on a study of searches conducted by more than 100 million buyers around the world.
Using the data, Lyst selected what he argued were the 12 most iconic fashion moments of the year.
Among them were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who resigned from front-line royal duties in late March and Princess Beatrice married in July.
Meghan and Harry shocked the world in January when they announced their intention to resign as high-ranking members of the Royal Family.
Instead, the couple vowed to become “financially independent” and said they would split their time between North America and the UK.
However, several of the outfits Meghan wore to her last royal engagements in March turned into fashion sensations.

For the occasion, Meghan wore a splendid green dress by designer Emilia Wickstead.
Searches for the designer soared 286 percent after the event.
The other royal who provided one of the best fashion moments of 2020 was Beatrice, as a result of her July 17 wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The occasion, which had already been delayed by the coronavirus, took place in Windsor in front of a small group of guests.
Among those in attendance were the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
After the service a reception was held on the grounds of Buckingham Garden.
Beatrice wore a vintage wedding dress for the occasion that was borrowed from The Queen.
In the next 48 hours, Lyst reports that searches for “vintage wedding dresses” increased 297 percent.
Beatrice later described the day as “a lot of fun.”
