Joburg’s Killarney Mall is evacuated after bomb threat

Johannesburg – The Killarney shopping center was evacuated on Saturday after the center’s management received a bomb threat.

In a brief statement, the center’s management said that police were at the mall investigating the matter.

In a brief statement, the mall said: “We can confirm that there has been a bomb threat at Killarney Mall.

“We are following all security protocols and we have evacuated the mall. The police and the bomb squad have been contacted and are currently investigating the matter.

“The safety of our buyers, tenants and the mall staff is of the utmost importance to us. The mall will reopen when we have been informed that it is safe to do so, ”said the mall’s center management.

On social media, some posted videos showing people being evacuated from the building during a wet morning in Joburg.

The people who were evacuated seemed calm and in good spirits, as seen in the video below.

Police were still at the scene investigating the matter.
