Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes there could be as many as eight teams in the race for the Premier League title this season.
The Reds were victorious last season, winning the Premier League title by 18 points against their closest rivals Manchester City.
Klopp’s team have gotten off to a good start this season and are at the top of the standings after eight games, although they are still tight at the top.

When asked in the Daily mail on how many teams could participate in the race for the Premier League title, Klopp replied: “[I think there could be up to] eight.
“An open race? I do not have any problem with that. That’s absolutely fine. “
Liverpool fell one point short of Manchester City’s 100 points in the 2017/18 campaign, which was the most team points achieved in a Premier League season.
However, Klopp would rather focus on retaining the title for this term than on any record.
“[I’m] I’m sorry to say this, but I couldn’t care less at this point, ”Klopp added.
“It doesn’t seem like someone gets 100 or whatever. In this season? Four weeks less? The same number of games? I don’t think it’s possible. Even 87 seems far away.
“[But] If we won it this year, it would be a great achievement to be honest. Maybe a bigger one [than last season]. That’s what I love about the Premier League – there are so many contenders.
“Our start was not so bad. Yes we had a special match against Aston Villa [in defeat]. Maybe we needed it. We have used it. [We have] Leicester on Sunday. Let’s see [how we do]. “
