JOHANNESBURG – The African National Congress said it planned to use its next National General Council (NGC) to re-commit the party to its revolutionary morals and ethics.

In its discussion papers, the party expressed concern about the current caliber of party leaders, saying that they took for granted the support of the people with arrogance, nepotism, factionalism and corruption.

The ANC NGC will review a document that describes the process to be followed in the election of leaders.

The party also asks in the discussion papers published on Friay, what should be his attitude towards patronage and the use of money in the lobbying process.

This follows the criticisms that have hounded President Cyril Ramaphosa’s campaign for the ANC presidency over the amount of money that was used.

Jeff Radebe, ANC policy chief: “The ANC is increasingly losing credibility and confidence due to its performance in delivering a better life for all. With corruption and capture of the state, we are not seen as managing state resources for the benefit of our people effectively and efficiently and economically. “

The NGC will also allow the party hall to question its relevance to society in its current form while reviewing its character, policies, and programs.
