EFF Deputy Leader Floyd Shivambu lashed out at Cape Town Metro Police officers who were caught on video pulling a disabled man out of his wheelchair.
In a video that circulated on social media Thursday, the unidentified man can be seen in an altercation with officials over an unknown topic.
An officer is seen placing his leg against the wheelchair before a second officer grabs the wheelchair and throws him to the ground.
The man clings to the wheel of the wheelchair before the officer pulls it further away.
Before the video ends, officers can be seen chasing the man and the person who recorded the clip outside the police station, threatening the person behind the camera with arrest.
“Get out because you’re filming at the police station. Otherwise, we are going to arrest you. “
In reaction to the video, Shivambu demanded a report on what happened, saying that action should be taken against the officials involved.
“This is inhumane and there must be action against the subway police involved. Please let’s get a clear report by Monday, ”he said.
