Within minutes, two gunmen spelled their way into a Roodepoort nursery school, traumatized children, locked up teachers and robbed them.
Playschool Academy owner Ivon Muller told TimesLIVE that the men had entered the school on Ontdekkers Road around 1.40pm Tuesday, saying they were asking about available admissions.
Muller said they were disinfected according to Covid-19 protocols at the door and brought to the office.
“Once in the office we asked them to what degree they were interested and the man said: ‘This is not a license plate, this is a robbery.’
She said they pulled out a firearm. “One of them stayed with us in the office and let us bow our heads. The other went to find the teachers of his classes. They asked for money, which we never keep on the premises, cell phones and they took the laptop. Then they locked the five teachers in the staff room and left, ”Muller said.
“The whole test lasted between five and seven minutes. They went in and out. “
