• The 2020 academic year will be the most challenging, says Motshekga
This was revealed at a meeting of the Council of Education Ministers on Wednesday.
On Monday, the Department of Basic Education (DBE) said the Paper 2 Math test appeared in Limpopo and Gauteng before the test was written.
The Chief Director of National Evaluation and Public Examinations, Dr. Rufus Poliah, said they were still trying to determine the origin of the leaked document.
“When we indicate that the leak occurred in Limpopo and Gauteng, it does not mean that the leak occurred in the Limpopo Department of Education or the Gauteng Department of Education. We are simply trying to pinpoint the location of the case, ”Poliah said.
An investigation was being conducted by a team consisting of the Umalusi Council, the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), the South African Universities (USAf) and the DBE.
He would report at the end of November and was to complete the investigation by the end of January.
