JOHANNESBURG – Supreme Court Vice President Raymond Zondo is expected to announce his fate as chairman of the state capture investigation on Tuesday.
This was in the wake of a recusal request submitted by former President Jacob Zuma’s legal team, which took all day to deliberate.

The request for disqualification could have far-reaching implications for the commission’s work over the past two years, involving 257 witnesses.
Zondo says he cannot recuse himself because he is the only member of the investigation.

Zuma’s legal team says Zondo will be biased against the former president because of his personal record.
The former president’s team also warns that if Zuma is forced to testify, he will simply not say anything.
Zondo says he expects to deliver his sentence Tuesday morning at 10 am, but admits that reaching a decision could take longer.
