All eyes are on Emma Corrin, who is winning hearts with her portrayal of Princess Diana in The crown.
And as the spotlight falls on her, the actor has been giving details about what it was like to play the People’s Princess on the royal Netflix show that has become the talk of the town.
In an interview with Glamor MagazineCorrin recalled an incident in which she had to be rushed to hospital while filming the show in Spain.
“I am asthmatic and had been sick for a while with a bad cough,” she said.
“I had to film a scene in a frozen swimming pool, with the children playing [Prince] William and [Prince] Harry. It was honestly the hardest scene to shoot because it really kept me alive by floating in the water and it also kept five year old ‘Harry’ alive as we found out he couldn’t swim! “
“We were destined to fly back to the UK that night, so we went through a hospital to get me antibiotics,” he said.
“The doctors gave me an oxygen test and said, ‘We can’t let him go because his oxygen levels are so low,’ so I was hospitalized,” he added.
“I remember the nurses realizing what I was filming and saying, ‘We know you’re playing Princess Diana, would you like us to put a cardboard bag over your head so that no one would recognize who you are?’ in broken English! ”she recalled.
