MultiChoice has launched its new DStv Rewards program, which gives subscribers the possibility of obtaining discounts on DStv products.
The company said that among the available offers are free package upgrades for qualifying subscribers.
This reward system was first announced in August 2020 and is now officially available to all DStv customers.
“The recently launched DStv Rewards gives subscribers the opportunity to receive more content they love with special updates and customer discounts, as well as benefits from BoxOffice, Showmax and other DStv-related products and services,” said DStv in a blog post.
“We want to keep customers entertained, on and off the couch, with access to live events and more to make the DStv experience even better.”
Subscribers can enroll in the DStv Rewards program through the MyDStv app at no additional charge.
How to earn DStv Rewards points
DStv said customers can earn reward points, called “stars,” based on the following:
- Which package You’re in: You can earn up to 15 stars depending on the package you’re subscribed to.
- How long have you been a DStv customer: You could earn up to 20 stars depending on the number of years you have been part of the DStv family
- The services you are using, which can add more stars: such as Showmax streaming when added to your DStv account, rent BoxOffice movies and DStv streaming through the app.
- Simply staying connected for three months earns you 10 stars.
- The number of stars you earn will only be used to determine the reward level you will be at.
There are four tiers of rewards, which are classified as follows:
- Start: 0-30 stars
- Rising Star: 31-60 stars
- Superstar: 61-90 stars
- Legend: 91+ stars
Discounts and rewards
Subscribers with more stars are eligible for more offers, including “rent one get one free” at the box office, Uber Eats coupons, Showmax discounts, free package upgrades and more.
“Some rewards are ongoing discounts and offers that will be yours every month as long as you are an active subscriber at that reward level,” DStv said.
“In addition to earning stars, rewards members can look forward to challenges and competitions for even more rewards.”
“Once you have joined the rewards, DStv will also alert you to new offers, challenges, contests, and rewards via email, SMS, or notifications through the MyDStv app.”
DStv customers can check their level of rewards and offers by logging into the MyDStv application and selecting the Rewards icon to join.
They will then be redirected to the rewards panel, which will reveal how many starts they have and what special offers they can claim.
