JOHANNESBURG – The South African government finally responded to the escape from the country, the self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife.
In a statement, the government said they have now initiated a process to extradite Bushiri.
The government says they will extradite the Bushiris using SADC extradition laws.

The government has also confirmed that Bushiri and his wife Mary did not board the plane with Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera.
The Bushiris have violated their conditions of bail as they are not allowed to travel outside of South Africa.
Last week, the couple were granted bail of 200,000 rand each.

They face charges of theft, money laundering and fraud in connection with an alleged investment plan of 100 million rand.
