- Multichoice has launched its new DStv Explora Ultra decoder.
- The company has partnered with Netflix to include it in its offering for DStv subscribers.

MultiChoice has launched its new DStv Explora Ultra set-top box that will go on sale starting next week, offering DStv subscribers access to Netflix and Showmax video streaming services.
The new DStv Explora Ultra has a suggested retail price of R2 499 for the set-top box only and R3 699 when it includes installation.
The new streaming carousel includes Showmax and Netflix, with MultiChoice to roll out and complete the carousel with more third-party streaming services as time goes on.
MultiChoice will offer DStv subscribers the option to subscribe and unsubscribe from Netflix through the new set-top box with the Netflix monthly charge to be added in rand to their monthly bill. It is not yet clear how much the various Netflix packages will cost via DStv. Existing Netflix subscribers will also be able to use the set-top box to log into their Netflix account and watch Netflix that way.
