JOHANNESBURG – President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the national state of disaster by one month.

Ramaphosa made the announcement Wednesday.

“To ensure that we can keep all necessary prevention measures in place, we are, as required by the Disaster Management Act, extending the national disaster status for another month until December 15,” Ramaphosa said.

Ramaphosa urged South Africans to continue to comply with health regulations to avoid a second wave of infections.
