KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy who fell three floors in an apartment block in Verulam, north of Durban.

On Tuesday, police spokesman Capt. Nqobile Gwala said an investigation file had been opened.

“It is alleged that at 10:30 yesterday, a 4-year-old boy fell from the third floor while at his home on Ireland Street in Verulam.”

Gwala said he died at the hospital.

“He suffered head injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he died. The matter is still under investigation,” he said.
