Anderson Cooper “regrets” calling President Donald Trump a “fat turtle on his back, flailing in the hot sun” last week.
The CNN host caused a stir Thursday night when he spoke about how the commander-in-chief was “flailing in the blazing sun, realizing his time was up” when the election results came in, and has now admitted that he would wish not having done it. He spoke so insultingly “in the heat of the moment.”

Anderson expressed regret when interviewing Andrew Yang over the weekend.
The former presidential hopeful told the presenter: “I’m happy to say that it looks like Trump is going to be, in his words, an obese turtle on his back, just flailing, Anderson.”
Before continuing, the 53-year-old announcer said, “By the way, I must say, I’m sorry I used those words, because that’s not the person I really want to be.
“It was in the heat of the moment, and I’m sorry.”
Anderson made his original comments after the president threatened legal action over the voting process.
He said, “I don’t think we’ve seen anything like this from the President of the United States and I think, like Jake [Tapper] He said, it’s sad and it’s really pathetic and of course it will go through the courts, but you will notice that the president did not present any evidence, nothing, no actual real evidence of any kind of fraud.
“That is the president of the United States, that is the most powerful person in the world and we see him as an obese turtle on his back flailing in the hot sun realizing that his time is up.
“But he just hasn’t accepted it and wants to take everyone with him, including this country.”
