Paula White, spiritual adviser to outgoing US President Donald Trump, and “African angels” are trending on social media after Trump lost the US presidency to Democratic challenger and former Vice President Joe Biden.

Last week, White delivered a sermon during which he prayed for Trump’s re-election and asked the angels of Africa and South America to intervene.

In the Facebook live sermon, White said the church would pray for Trump’s victory and against the “traps set” for him.

In the viral clip, she can be heard speaking in tongues and “sending” angels from Africa to help Trump win a second term in the White House.

“I hear the sound of heavy rain. I hear the sound of victory. I hear the sound of shouts and chants, I hear the sound of victory.

“The Lord says it is done. I hear the sound of victory in the corners of the sky. The angels are being released right now, the angels are being sent from Africa right now, they come here, they come here from South America, they come here, ”he said.

Many questioned why White summoned “African angels” to help Trump win after he supposedly refers to African countries as “shit holes ”.

Some joked “it will end in tears,” while others laughed at the despair of Trump supporters.

After the election result was announced on Saturday, with Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris emerging victorious, Twitter flooded accounts to assess whether “African angels” really did show up for Trump and his supporters.

Here’s a look at the reactions:
