The former Kaizer Chiefs man has been linked to a move away from the Brazilians

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Maluleka says he is not moved by media reports about him and that he is “focused on the journey ahead.”

Sundowns is said to be planning loan deals for some of their new signings, including Maluleka, who arrived at Chloorkop in July.

Recent media reports suggested that Maluleka would be loaned to Cape Town.

While Downs coach Manqoba Mngqithi has already dismissed the rumors, Maluleka said he is not concerned about anything that has been reported about him in the media.

“When it comes to the media, to be honest, I have never really paid attention to the allegations or rumors that are being said, as my only focus and goal is to play football, so I try my best to avoid it, so I stay focused on the journey ahead, ”Maluleka told the Sundowns website.

The 31-year-old has appeared in all three of the Sundowns Premier Soccer League (PSL), and comes as a substitute every time.

The midfielder already has an assist to his name, but admits he still has “a lot of work” to do to be on top of his game.

“Yes, so far everything is fine with the games. There is still a lot of work to do on my part, but it is too early to say, ”said Maluleka.

“I have done well and I have worked hard in constant training to find my best self to help the team and have an impact. It’s a matter of trust, but a lot has been done so far. I am happy but still not satisfied, as I said, it is still very early.

“The competition is always good, especially in an environment like Mamelodi Sundowns. You have to do your best every time you get the chance, so it’s also great for the team. It makes us stronger as a collective and it also pushes you as an individual.

“It has been a good couple of months at the club and as I said before, the team received me very warmly. I immediately felt really good and positive about it, so I’ve never looked back since. I just need to keep working hard and help the team move forward. Overall it’s been great, especially the way they welcomed me. “

After beating Cape Town 2-0 in a league game last Wednesday, the Sundowns return to action on November 22 when they host AmaZulu.
