1,731 new COVID-19 cases reported in South Africa and 40 more deaths recorded

The number of active cases in the country is still below the 400,000 mark, and now hovers around 370,000.

JOHANNESBURG – There have been just over 1,700 new COVID-19 infections in South Africa, bringing the burden of cases nationally to 735,906.

The number of active cases in the country is still below the 400,000 mark, and now hovers around 370,000.

Forty more deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported, bringing the national death toll to 19,789.
