Durban – Jessica Weyers, the woman whose body was found dumped on a sports field in Inanda earlier this week, was friends with Siam Lee.

A close friend of the Lee family said she recognized Weyer’s face and remembered seeing it before.

“She worked in the city. I met her at Siam’s funeral. This is all very sad. They were friends,” the woman said.

Weyer’s mother, Leanne Claassens, identified the body of her 23-year-old daughter in the Phoenix morgue, just days after she was reported missing.

Claassens said the family was devastated.

According to police, Weyer’s may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped on the sports field.

They cut his hands and throat.

The police are investigating a murder case.

Lee’s charred body was found dumped in a sugar cane field last year. His body was reportedly disfigured and he had no teeth because his killer had struck his face with a hammer.

The man accused of abducting and murdering Lee, Philani Ntuli, has since died and the matter was removed from the judicial list.

According to one of the investigators who played an integral role in Lee’s investigation, Mike Myers, he met Weyers while investigating Lee’s death.

“We delve into the dark side of Durban involving prostitution and drugs. [She] She was a working girl who became a very reliable source of information that led us to this dark underworld. It was very sad to hear of his death, may he rest in peace. Condolences to her and her family, “Meyer said in a Facebook post.
