WASHINGTON – Twitter on Wednesday marked a tweet in which President Donald Trump accused Democrats of trying to steal the presidential election.
“We’re going BIG, but they’re trying to STEAL the election,” Trump wrote on Twitter moments after Biden told his supporters that he hoped to win.

Twitter quickly flagged and concealed Trump’s tweet, saying that “some or all of the content shared in this tweet is in dispute and could be misleading about an election or other civic process.”
In his tweet, Trump said nothing to support his theft charge.

Throughout the campaign, Trump has tried to question the integrity of the electoral process, repeatedly claiming, for example, that voting by mail will lead to fraud.
Twitter, long criticized for failing to act against Trump’s unfounded claims, has asserted itself in recent months, pointing to such comments and others in which Trump was seen as glorifying violence.
