A 33-year-old man is expected to appear in Sterkspruit Magistrates Court following his arrest for the alleged murder of a 44-year-old mother and her 20-year-old daughter at Tienbank, Sterkspruit, in the Eastern Cape.

According to Colonel Sibongile Soci, a police spokesman, both women were last seen at their home on October 29 at approximately 8:00 p.m. The next day, around 07:00, a neighbor went to his house and noticed blood stains on the outside of the door.

Upon arrival at the scene, the police discovered the bodies of the two women with several stab wounds to the upper body.
