JOHANNESBURG – Loyiso Masuku, a member of the Joburg mayoral committee, has officially returned to work.

This after the African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng asked Mayor Geoff Makhubo to grant her an extended leave of absence in July while he internally investigated the claims linking the MMC, her husband, former MEC of Health Dr. Bandile Masuku and the presidential spokeswoman, Khusela Diko, with allegations of corruption. in the award of personal protective equipment.

The MEC department had awarded Diko’s husband a multi-million dollar tender to acquire COVID-19 resources.

Masuku returned to work after being cleared by the ANC’s own processes, while her husband has filed legal proceedings against the SIU for a report he submitted that led to his dismissal.

Loyiso Masuku said he had no concerns about the ANC’s processes.

“If for some reason I had refused to cooperate and did not allow the process, perhaps it would have been perceived differently, so I felt comfortable allowing the process to run its natural course for as long as it took.”
