PRETORIA – Hundreds of churchgoers from the Illuminated Christian Church are back today outside Pretoria Central Magistrates Court, where its leader Sheperd Bushiri and his wife Mary await a decision on their bail application.
The couple, along with their co-defendants, were arrested last week and face charges including fraud and money laundering in the amount of R102 million.
A portion of Francis Baard Street has been blocked to traffic as Bushiri supporters converge in front of the court building, praying for their leader.
Meanwhile, another group has gathered dressed in ANC robes, saying they want Bushiri out.
“We are here to demand that our father come out,” the protesters chanted.
