Cape Town – Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida revealed on Sunday that she felt no pressure to follow in the footsteps of reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi.

“When I saw her for the first time, I saw my own face reflected. Before that, I didn’t realize that people who looked like me could compete and win on international stages. He opened the door for me and allowed me to occupy my own space. I’m not worried about comparisons, they are not bad. I’m amazed to follow in his footsteps. “

A beaming Musida woke up this morning as Miss South Africa 2020 to a busy media schedule that included a press conference with two of her fellow contestants.

Musida, Bachelor of Social Sciences in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Ha-Masia in Limpopo, was crowned Miss South Africa 2020 in the brilliant final of the contest held at the Table Bay hotel in Cape Town.

She appeared at a press conference with first runner-up Thato Mosehle (25) from Klerksdorp in the North West and second runner-up Natasha Joubert (23), from Pretoria, Gauteng.

The three will represent the country in the three most prestigious competitions in the world. Previously, the Miss South Africa Organization sent a representative to both Miss Universe and Miss World, but now it will also present a candidate for Miss Supranational. Only which contestant will go to which contest will be revealed at a later date.

All three had a message of hope for South Africa in these difficult times.

Said our new Miss South Africa: “We have a collective responsibility as a society and that requires kindness. We will have to rebuild society and practice compassion. “

Mosehle added: “South Africans have always proven resilient. There are challenges we have to face and we need to support each other. “

“It is time to unite and unite for the common good,” echoed Joubert.
