Katlego Maboe has denied the abuse allegations against him as a video of a confrontation between him and his ex-partner (and mother of his son) circulates on social media.

Earlier this week, Monique Muller’s brother made several allegations on Instagram alleging that Maboe abused his sister and gave her an STD.

Speaking to IOL Entertainment on Friday, the “Expresso” host said he stood firm in his opening statement where he denied the abuse allegations, adding that the matter was being litigated and therefore sub-judice.

“I respect the legal process and everyone involved and do not compromise or discredit anyone,” Maboe said.

Regarding the video circulating on social media where Muller is apparently filming it, Maboe says it was filmed on August 24 and started as a normal night at home and ended in the barbecue session.

“My son was used as a weapon, and as a father, I was put in a position where I must consider my love for him … I said what I said in the video and did my best to at least draw the line the integrity of the people involved.

“I really wanted to have the conversation with her in person, but I realized very quickly that the intention of the video from the beginning was for it to be published.”

He added that his body language in the video was an indication of his suffering from emotional abuse and manipulation.

Maboe said she wanted to handle the matter privately, specifically for her son, and said it was an “extraordinarily traumatic time.”

He also claimed that their relationship had gone downhill and that Muller was physically abusing him.

He recounted an incident in which she allegedly tried to gouge his eyes out and slapped him three times, indicating that the police were called.

However, the situation calmed down as he had to go to work.

He said he had video evidence of the incident.

Regarding the claim that he had given Muller an STD, he said: “The allegations about the STD are unproven.”

Again he denied abusing her.

IOL Entertainment was unable to reach Muller for comment.
