ECG church members gather outside court for bail hearing for Bushiri and his wife
The leaders of Iglesia Cristiana Iluminada Gathering (ECG) face charges of fraud, money laundering and violation of the Organized Crime Prevention Act worth R102 million.

PRETORIA – Supporters of the self-proclaimed Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, gathered Friday morning in front of the Pretoria Magistrates Court, where his bail request was being heard.
The leaders of Iglesia Cristiana Iluminada Gathering (ECG) face charges of fraud, money laundering and violation of the Prevention of Organized Crime Act worth R102 million.
They were arrested earlier this week.
Bushiri supporters rallied in numbers in a show of support for their leader.
Some carried signs that read “There is nothing too difficult for God,” while others said “Christians have been persecuted for too long.”
The Bushiri parishioners outside the court chanted “there is no one like you, our father.”
