Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for Covid-19 again
Portugal and Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for coronavirus for the second time after his recovery.
This means that Cristiano Ronaldo will have to miss the The Juventus Champions League clash with Barcelona is scheduled for next week.
This means that the anticipated showdown between him and Lionel Messi is also now out of the qquestion.
Cristiano Ronaldo had already been diagnosed with coronavirus while on international service with Portugal earlier this month.
But days after the initial positive test, Ronaldo is still contagious.
According to the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, Ronaldo’s test gave a very low viral load despite testing positive.
Juventus have not yet fully given up on their return just in time to Barcelona.
Juventus will reportedly ask UEFA for permission to test Ronaldo 48 hours before the match which is scheduled for October 28.
If the result is negative, it will be up to UEFA to decide whether or not to play the match.
According to UEFA protocol, a player must test negative at least one week before a match to be considered for selection.
Ronaldo, who has been recovering at home, has been sharing photos of himself keeping fit at home after testing positive for the virus on international service.
He tested positive days after playing for Portugal against France and Spain.
At the moment, the player cannot use the Juventus training ground facilities.
Ronaldo has been working hard in his home gym trying to stay fit for his next games. but he will have to stay away for a while longer, after his latest setback.
