Barcelona prepare to offer Manchester United a deal in the upcoming winter transfer market
Both Manchester United and Barcelona kicked off their Champions League campaign in excellent fashion. The Red Devils once again managed to beat Paris Saint-Germain through a late winner from Marcus Rashford as they did two seasons ago. Meanwhile, the Catalans recovered from their devastating Champions League tie last season with a resounding victory over Ferencvaros at the Camp Nou.

Manchester United and Barça were in constant contact during the summer transfer market as the Red Devils were eager to sign Ousmane Dembele. Meanwhile, the Catalans were hoping to load their € 105 million transfer onto a loan deal to United, as the club had set its sights on Memphis Depay.
Barca believed that getting rid of Dembélé would create enough room in the salary budget to meet Depay’s demands, as the former Red Devils winger is one of the highest paid players in France. However, unfortunately, the Catalans were unable to unload Ousmane Dembélé as the French superstar did not want to leave the Camp Nou.
It has now been reported that all the paperwork was also complete for the deal to go through, however a last minute decision by Dembele caused the deal to fail. France Football is now reporting that Barca have not given up on the idea of ditching the Frenchman to sign Memphis Depay, who is desperately wanted by Ronald Koeman.
The culés will return to renegotiate the terms with Manchester United and Dembélé’s agent in the winter transfer market. The Red Devils need a right back and since Dembélé can play on either wing, it seems his best chance at the moment is the former Dortmund player.
Can Barça pull it off this time and sign Memphis Depay after failing to do so in the summer?
