A woman who has five companies registered in her name allegedly entered a building in the city of Johannesburg (CoJ) in Braamfontein under false pretenses to gain access to her computer equipment.

Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Xolani Fihla said security personnel stationed at the Metro Center in Braamfontein reported the theft and damage of computer hard drives on the building’s third, fourth and fifth floors on Thursday. from block A.

A preliminary investigation showed that the suspect visited the offices on October 10 and 14. His movements were captured with closed-circuit television cameras.

“It was also discovered that she misrepresented herself at the security hotspot by providing false personal details, pretending to be a CoJ employee and falsifying a CoJ ssystem analysis program number.”

She was arrested when security personnel were alerted that she had returned to the building on October 17.

“The group’s forensic and investigative service profiling system displayed the suspect’s correct first and last name with five active companies registered in the system listing the suspect’s full names and address,” Fihla said.

The woman has been charged with theft and willful damage to property.
