The ship was carrying seven people when it sank. Two people managed to get to safety and, in the search for the others, a body was found on Saturday.
“It is reported that on Saturday night … seven people, ranging in age from 30 to 45, were sailing in a boat on the Vaal River, Vereeniging, from Sam Gross Three Rivers when their boat allegedly capsized. Two people, a woman and a man – survived and a second man was pronounced dead at the scene, “said police spokesman Brig. Mathapelo Peters.
Police resumed the search on Sunday.

“The search for the four missing victims is still ongoing,” Peters said.
An investigation file has been opened and the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
