Eastern Cape police in the Sarah Baartman district launched a manhunt for armed suspects following a robbery at a country house on the outskirts of Addo on Friday night.

According to police spokesman Sergeant Majola Nkohli, at around 8:35 p.m., five guests were sitting in the braai area of ​​the bed and breakfast.

“One of the guests noticed that there was a group of about five suspects wearing ski masks crawling on the ground towards them and raised the alarm.

“One of the suspects started firing and one of the bullets hit the victim in the upper body,” Nkohli said.

“During the chaos, a second victim suffered a minor wound after one of the bullets grazed his thigh.

“The suspects managed to steal a laptop, a wallet, a purse and a cell phone before fleeing the scene on foot. One case of attempted murder (two counts) and a second count of burglary are being investigated.
