Following the announcement that Game will run a full month of Black Friday deals In 2020, the retailer has detailed its plans for the shopping period in more detail.
This will include expanding its partnership with Uber Eats, increasing staffing levels for the month of November, and offering its popular ‘1 cent price surprise’ on all Black Friday purchases, Game said.
The retailer said its weekly sales will run from Nov. 2 to Nov. 29, with each of the four weeks offering different deals.
The first set of offers will be announced and launched online at midnight on November 1 and will be available exclusively for that week.
A partnership with Uber Eats, started during lockdown level 5 to deliver essential products, will expand during the month to include small electronics and home office essentials, Game said.
Increasing staffing levels both in the store and on the company’s delivery leg will ensure a convenient and positive experience for all customers, he said.
Consumers can expect a 10-14 day lead time on all Black Friday orders, with a shipping fee capped at R90. Large items added to an order, including chest freezers and refrigerators, will have a surcharge of R70 per item, per order.
1 cent price surprise
The retailer will also re-introduce its ‘1 Cent Price Surprise’, initially unveiled for Black Friday 2019.
The same Black Friday deals will be available both online and in store, and newsletter subscribers will have early access to all Black Friday deals, said Andrew Stein, vice president of Game.
However, he said that game stores will not open at midnight like they did last year; but the following hours of operation:
- Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 18:00
- Saturday: 09h00 – 17h00
- Sundays and holidays: 09:00 – 16:00
“As a responsible retailer, we don’t want to encourage our shoppers to flock to stores at midnight,” Stein said.
“The fact that offers are made weekly means that more South Africans will be able to access our unbeatable offers in a secure and convenient way.
“However, it is important for consumers to be aware that these offers will only be in effect for the week they are advertised and will never be repeated. When these agreements are over, they are over. “
The game will also offer Cyber Monday deals on Monday, November 30, however they will run exclusively online.
