A 33-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Hennenman Magistrates Court in the Free State Thursday for his alleged involvement in an attack on a farm.

According to police spokesman Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, this followed an incident that occurred on October 3 at around 10:10 pm when a couple chatted with their neighbor on their farm in Hennenman district. Two unknown men reportedly entered the country house and began shooting.

“The 60-year-old woman was shot twice in the chest and knee and her husband, 62, was also shot twice in the leg while the neighbor escaped unharmed,” Makhele said.

The attackers then fled the scene with the victims’ cell phones. Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment.

A manhunt was launched against the attackers, leading to the arrest of the man.

“On October 13, the Free State Provincial Organized Crime Unit, working in conjunction with Hennenman detectives, responded to information about a farm near Hennenman, where one of the suspects, who was a pastor, was found in hiding. at the cattle stall, and they arrested him. His friend is still in the race and the investigations are continuing, “Makhele said.
