In a speech delivered at a special provincial executive meeting, ANC Eastern Cape President Oscar Mabuyane warned that he would act against party members “casting doubt on the judiciary.”
During his keynote address at Monday’s meeting, Mabuyane did not beat around the bush, condemning what he said appeared to be an “organized bloc or splinter group within the ANC that portrays itself as contingents of radical economic transformation.”
“This supreme form of bad discipline that is bent on undermining the ANC leadership elected at the 54th National Conference must be confronted and defeated. It is important that we remind comrades that our 54th National Conference resolved that: ‘we publicly disassociate ourselves from anyone , either a corporate donor, a supporter or a member, accused of corruption or allegedly involved in acts of corruption ”.
“We will therefore be forced to take action against those who continue to undermine our resolve on corruption and crime. This includes members of the ANC who are actively mobilizing against the rule of law and casting doubt on our judiciary without foundation or fact. “, He said. He said.
This came just days after ANC members marched to the Zondo commission on the capture of the state demanding that the Vice President of the Supreme Court, Raymond Zondo, recuse himself as chairman of the investigation.
The group, commonly known as the forces of radical economic transformation, led by people like MKMVA spokesman Carl Niehaus argued that former president Jacob Zuma would not get a fair hearing.

Zondo issued a subpoena against Zuma after the former president failed to appear before the commission, indicating he was concerned about the health risks associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.
“As PEC, we must express our full support for the Zondo commission in the capture of the state and all other commissions that have been established to investigate corruption and other related crimes and convict all those who are mobilizing against the commission,” he said Mabuyane. .
The group also pledged to support Secretary General Ace Magashule after he told the media that an arrest warrant was issued against him.
The Eastern Cape president lashed out at those within the ANC who called for an urgent mid-term conference.

The ANC’s constitution, however, stated that an NGC had the right to ratify, alter, or rescind any decision made by any of the ANC’s constituent bodies, units, or officials, including evaluating the performance of NEC members.
He also indicated that an NGC can fill vacancies at the NEC “as long as said vacancies do not exceed 50% of the executive.”
